Fire safety training

Fire safety training will be available online in the VIK Moodle system in the fall of 2025. The course can be completed by logging into the system.

Please read through the information material, after which the test will become available. After correctly answering the test, your participation in the fire safety training will be recognized.

Attendance at training sessions is monitored by the Fire Safety Department of the BME Property and Institutional Security Directorate using attendance sheets. Failure to attend the annual training sessions may result  the students exclusion from laboratory classes (even if this stops them to continuing their studies)

 

Act XXXI of 1996 on fire protection,

Technical rescue and the fire service

Section 22 (1) In primary and secondary schools, vocational schools, and higher education institutions, fire protection knowledge related to general and specific subjects shall be taught as part of the curriculum, as well as in specialized courses and continuing education programs. The educational institution and the body providing the education shall be responsible for providing such education.

(2) Only persons who have passed a fire safety examination may be employed in occupations and jobs specified by law. The fire safety examination shall be organized by the provider of the education (specialized course) that qualifies for the given occupation (job).

(3) The employer shall be responsible for providing annual fire safety training to its employees and family members involved in the work, and for ensuring that they acquire the fire safety knowledge relevant to their job and activities before starting work and are familiar with their duties in the event of a fire.

(4) The employer may not employ an employee or family member participating in work who does not have the fire safety knowledge necessary for their activities or who has not passed the required fire safety examination.
